Meggie Gibbons
Founder, Owner, and Creator
I absolutely love vintage fashion & design, and I have a degree in interior design and decoration.
I’ve always loved baking, and made birthday & wedding cakes for friends and family but as a hobby whilst I worked full time as an interior designer for Laura Ashley.
With all the positive feedback and reviews I decided to take the plunge and created the Gerastan Bakehouse just as my grandad would have wanted me to.
I love designing and crafting cakes for my lovely customers. I’m only 5’2″ and I have made cakes taller than me!
As I have food allergies and intolerances myself I am very well aware of the need for great care in the ingredients and making of our cakes. Our kitchen is designed around this important aspect of our work
Gerastan is a portmanteau of my
late grandad’s name, Gerald Stanley.
I named my business in memory of him as he loved cakes, pastries, and sweet treats.
He was born a triplet, and they were
so poor he slept in a chest of
drawers as a baby. He worked so
hard his whole life and built a
property empire from the ground up.
He gained a lot of respect for being
kind, generous, and always humble,
a true inspiration.
He always encouraged us to follow our dreams, and I’m so pleased I followed his advice.
